IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals is investing Rs 350 crore to expand its ibuprofen manufacturing capacity at Barnala, Punjab, boosting output from 12,000 MTPA to 18,000 MTPA by December 2027. Funded through internal accruals, the project adds a fully backward-integrated unit to accommodate existing facilities running at 95% capacity. Alongside this API expansion, IOL has commissioned a formulation plant, officially entering the pharmaceutical CDMO sector.
